At Spark Village, the Community Builders want to help making our neighborhood a welcoming and happy place to live!
We are 6 volunteers —Judy, Merle, Beer, Dave, Edres, and Cariem— and here to support our fellow residents, encourage connections, and create opportunities for everyone to come together. We try to give at least 4 hours a week to building a stronger, more connected community!
We try to build the community in different ways: from organizing fun social events to helping with practical questions about Spark Village. Whether you’re looking for ways to get involved, need help navigating local services, or just want to chat, they’re always approachable and happy to assist 🙂
Lately we’ve been organising taalcafe, BBQ’s, cleaning up events and more. We hope to see you there!

Hey everyone! I’m Judy, 27 years old, a polyglot and a graduated doctor, a proud mom of two cats, i love adventures, biking and gaming. I was born to spread kindness and help everywhere and that’s my goal as a community builder ❤
Merle Praum
Hi all! I am Merle, 22 years old, originally from Aachen in Germany and I am currently doing my masters in Business Data Science. In my free time, I love to do sports like hitting the gym or going for a run or swim. I also dig playing the piano and doing music together. I love living at Spark and chatting with Sparkies so feel free to reach out <3

Heya 👋 I’m Dave, one of the community builders of Spark! I’m a Computer Science student at the University of Amsterdam 🤓 In my free time i like to design, be socially active, and of course try to make Spark Village a nice place!

Hello Sparkies! 🙂 I’m Cariem, 24 years old and doing a master at the University of Amsterdam to become a French teacher In my free time I like to be outside in nature, playing boardgames, cooking good food and dance & sing. I really love living (together with my beautiful cat Luna) at Sparkvillage <3 The people, the community, the activities… It gives me so much joy! You can always approach me if you see me and have a little chitchat, share your concerns, your joy or something completely else 🙂

My name is Kris, 26 years old and I work as a project coordinator at Academie van de Stad. As a foundation Academie van de Stad connects students to everyday challenges and issues in the city through social impact projects. I support the team of community builders at Spark and help where needed. I’m involved in different student and young professionals projects in the city.
