Get to know our different committees
Spark village has different committees which try to make Spark better, more fun, and more active in their own way! Below you can see the current active committees of Spark Village.
Want to get involved but don’t know how? Or want to create your own committee? You can contact us at sparkvillagecommunity@gmail.com
Green Committee
The green committee deals with the greenery in and around Sparkvillage. The other day, we bought all kinds of plants and flowers and planted them all over Spark. We maintain the plants in the Common Room, and we have a herb garden. We plan to put the old greenhouse on Sparkvillage, and turn it into a green meeting space. We can’t wait for everything to sprout, grow and bloom! Join here!
Party Committee
The party committee is involved in organising the most insane parties at Sparkvillage. From Halloween parties, barbecues, summer parties, as long as it’s a party, it’s a party! Want to help organise a party? Join here!
Residents’ Committee
A number of actively involved residents represent the interests of all tenants in a residents’ committee or association. The residents’ committees meet with Rochdale at least twice a year to discuss various topics. Such as liveability in the neighbourhood or maintenance in the complex, but also other matters that are close to home. For example, residents’ committees often organise activities to connect neighbours with each other.
Common Room Committee
The GR committee deals with all the activities and issues surrounding the GR (the Common Room). This committee ensures that the GR is a nice place where everyone feels welcome. In the GR, there is an opportunity to cook some food and have a drink. Feel free to chat with the people in the GR, have a cup of tea and relax! (And don’t forget to leave it as nice as you found the space! :))
There are regular activities in the GR, including the language café and the world kitchen. Social Cement is also there regularly with interesting and fun discussion topics. For more information on activities in the GR, check the agenda.
Wervings Comittee
The Wervingscommissie (also application committee) works together with Rochdale and Duwo for new neighbours. We help with the selection process in order to keep Spark Village a nice, active community! We read the application letters and do the tours across the studio’s. That means you probably have already been in contact with us!
